  • On-bus professional development and trip escort by Reena Sigman Friedman, PH.D., Associate Professor of Modern Jewish History at the Reconstructionist Rabbincal College and Adjunct Professor of Jewish History at Gratz College, Shari Herman Glauser, retired teacher, HAMEC educational speaker and a member of HAMEC's 2G network, Sarah Meller, a Holocaust survivor who was in hiding with the Partisans in Yugoslavia, was one of 982 Jewish refugees sheltered at the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Center – “Safe Haven” – in Oswego, New York.
