"Mr. Tuck had my son thinking all day about what he heard in school. He told me later that night about his one piece of bread in the morning and night. I am thankful for the hand out that was brought home, so I can read his story. This has been a priceless experience for my son, and I am so thankful that Mr. Tuck was able to visit. ~ A Perkiomen Valley HS parent

Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition 2015-2016

HAMEC is pleased to help advertise the Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition for 2015/2016 sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia's Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC).

It is an opportunity for middle and high school students in grades 7-12 from public, parochial and private schools from throughout the region to respond to the lessons of the Holocaust and the related issues of ethnic, racial and religious intolerance through creative expression. Each year over 400 students from a wide range of backgrounds participate in this artistic competition that judges students in poetry, prose, painting, sculpture, music, dance and video. An awards ceremony is held each June in conjunction with the exhibition and all artistic submissions are exhibited professionally by Moore College of Art and Design.

Entries are due by Wednesday, March 9, 2016.

“We learned a lot about the Holocaust beforehand but the presentation really personalized the history for us.” ~ Bala Cynwyd Middle School

Help us say "YES" to EVERY school that makes a request. Every $3 donated translates into another student that we can reach with our life changing first-hand accounts of the Holocaust.

Thank you so much for your support.
